Faculty of Psychology & Social Work is the youngest and the biggest faculty of Nizhyn Gogol State University. It started its work in the year of 1999.
Today the educational process is provided by 5 departments: social education and social work, general and practical psychology, nursery, education and psychology.

Mode of study: full-time, part-time.
Facilities: Computer centre, methodological and study rooms, training rooms. All this gave opportunities to provide modern facilities and resources for training skilled professionals on the basis of cooperation with social and educational services and establishments of Nizhyn and its region.
Social activities: the best faculty of the university (2003), first publications of students’ scientific works (2007), and the base faculty for hosting Ukrainian national students’ academic competition (2010).
Students of the faculty are taught by experienced lecturers who use modern interactive facilities and methods of teaching. As a result students get top places in regional and Ukrainian national scientific competitions, take part in Ukrainian national and international conferences and seminars, publish their scientific results in professional editions and in students’ collections, get additional scholarships.
Graduate school of the faculty publishes professional scientific journals “Psychological newsletter” (in cooperation with Institution of Psychology named after H. Kostyuk) and “Scientific notes: psychological and educational sciences”.
Students of the faculty take active part in public life of the university. The aim of students’ council is to develop artistic abilities, cognitive activity and students’ managerial skills. This is realized through different competitions, excursions, creative meetings, etc.
Besides, students carry out a social project “Protection of children’s rights as an important professional function of pedagogues”, organize charity events such as “From heart to heart’ and “Help your neighbor’ that are targeted to help special groups of children and youth (orphans, children with special needs, students’ families).
Faculty of psychology and social work cooperates with School of scientific work named after V. Poltavets, Ukrainian fund “Well-being of children”, centers of social services for families, children and youth, and various universities of Ukraine.
